Summer Break

Dear all,

Following our Music Night last week, SafeSpace has officially concluded her last event of the 2022-2023 season, and it’s time for us to look back on the past period. SafeSpace has experienced a lot of great things in the last 10 months. Not only have we officially established ourselves as a foundation as of November of 2022, we have met and reached so many wonderful (new) people through our own events, partner events and through our socials. A highlight was Alkmaar Pride, where SafeSpace was invited to sail on the boat of Gemeente Alkmaar during the canal parade. A bright day full of love and joy, which we will not soon forget!

Of course, we’ve also organized our own events. Together with you we played bingo, had interesting conversations with a panel in the library, held a pub quiz, had drinks, speed dated, listened to beautiful music, sang karaoke, watched movies, and experienced many more wonderful things! We at team SafeSpace certainly enjoyed it immensely and we are looking forward to the next season full of queer activities.

For now we’re taking some rest and SafeSpace will be on a summer break, but starting September we’ll get right back to work to organize the best events for you. Keep an eye on our socials for news and announcements the next months. In addition, let us know what you think. We are always looking for ways to make SafeSpace even more fun and accessible for you.
